For academic clubs

Study tracking for academic clubs and study groups

Pre-med societies, engineering clubs, business fraternities, and informal study groups all run on the same idea: show up and put in the hours together. TrytonApp makes the hours visible, verified, and a little competitive.

Updated

Who this fits

  • Pre-professional societies with a study requirement for active membership.
  • Professional fraternities (business, engineering, pharmacy) with academic standards.
  • Departmental clubs that run group study sessions before exams.
  • Friends who want a shared streak and a leaderboard to keep each other honest.

What you get

  • Study zones. Draw a zone around the library, a lab, or the room where your group meets. Sessions can only start inside a zone.
  • Leaderboards and streaks. A weekly leaderboard and a personal streak counter, visible to everyone in the group.
  • Goals. One goal for the whole group, or different goals per tag if some members carry a requirement and others do not.
  • Studying now. Every member can see who is studying right now, which is the easiest way to get one more person to walk over to the library.
  • Reports. Officers can export hours as CSV or PDF for any range up to a full term, useful for clubs that report to a department or student government.

Verification, lightly

The same geofence and pulse-check system that fraternities use for mandatory hours works just as well for a voluntary group. You can set the pulse check interval to every 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on how much verification your group wants. The point is that hours on the leaderboard were actually spent in the room.

Privacy

Location is only checked while a member is using the app or has an active session. Group admins see hours, not a location history. Members can export or delete their data from inside the app. Details are in the privacy policy.

Pricing

Free up to 20 members and 2 zones. Pro is $149 per year for unlimited members and zones. Prices are per group, so a 60-person society pays the same as a 25-person one. The setup guide covers creating zones and inviting members.

Start a group for free

Groups of 20 or fewer can use TrytonApp free with 2 zones. Create the group, share the invite code, and the leaderboard starts this week.
