For sororities

Sorority study hours, tracked without the sign-in sheet

Scholarship and academic chairs carry a lot: study hour requirements by GPA tier, new member programs, probation plans, and a report due to nationals or Panhellenic every term. TrytonApp handles the tracking so the chair can spend her time on the members who need support.

Study hour requirements in sororities

Most chapters set weekly hours by cumulative GPA. A common structure is no requirement above a 3.3, a few hours between 3.0 and 3.3, and six or more hours for anyone under a 3.0 or on academic probation. New member classes usually carry a flat requirement for the first semester regardless of GPA. Whatever the tiers are, the chair has to know each week who met them, and has to be able to show it.

That is where paper sign-in sheets, library kiosks, and honor-system Google Forms break down. They record that a name was written, not that a person was present, and they leave the chair reconciling a spreadsheet the night before standards.

How TrytonApp tracks sorority study hours

  • Study zones. Admins draw zones on a map: the campus library, the chapter house study room, the business school atrium. Members can only start a session while inside one.
  • Verified presence. Pulse checks at an interval you choose ask the member to confirm she is still there. Sessions end automatically when a member leaves the zone or stops responding.
  • Goals by tier. Put members in tags (New Member, On Probation, At Risk, or your own) and set a different weekly goal for each. On Pro Plus, hours can be assigned automatically from GPA rules you define, so a member's requirement updates when her GPA does.
  • Reports that are already done. Export a CSV or PDF for any week, the last four weeks, or a custom range up to 26 weeks. Weekly email summaries go to the exec board automatically.

Privacy for members

Location matters more in a sorority than most apps account for. TrytonApp checks location only while a member is using the app or has an active study session, never in the background otherwise. Admins see study hours and compliance, not where a member is or has been. Members can request a copy of their data and delete their account from inside the app without asking anyone. The full details are in the privacy policy.

Advisors and house directors

Chapter advisors can be added with an advisor role that lets them view compliance and analytics without any study requirement of their own and without the ability to change settings. It is the same view the chair sees, on the web at admin.trytonapp.com.

Cost

Free for up to 20 members and 2 zones, with the web dashboard and exports included. Pro is $149 per year for unlimited members and zones. Pro Plus is $199 per year and adds GPA tracking, auto-assigned hours by GPA, and optional accountability charges for missed hours. Prices are per chapter. A 200-member chapter pays the same as a 25-member chapter.

Setting it up before the first standards meeting

  1. The scholarship chair creates the organization in the app.
  2. Drop pins on your study locations and set a radius for each.
  3. Create tags for each GPA tier and set a weekly goal on each.
  4. Share the invite code with the chapter. Members join in about a minute.
  5. Move members into the right tags. The first report arrives the following week.

See the setup guide for details, or read how chapters compare tracking methods.

Try it with your chapter this week

The free plan covers up to 20 members and 2 study zones, with CSV and PDF exports included. Every new organization also starts on a 14-day Pro trial, so you can set up zones and see real sessions before deciding anything.
